To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the massive whisky festival was launched. The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival will last for six days starting on May 1, with 85 venues opening their doors and hosting 650 events. World-renowned celebrity chef and whisky enthusiast Tony Singh took part in the festival launch, expressing his excitement at being part of one of the world’s best whisky festivals. The festival also marks the 200th anniversary of five distilleries and the opening of a new distillery, Dunphail. Nearly 40% of attendees are from overseas, and event organizers promise the festival will be bigger and better than ever. Notable events for this year’s festival include The Spirit of Speyside Festival Ceilidh at The Macallan and The Ultimate Whisky Flight with Glenfarclas. Ticket sales for the festival are now live.
