Fife restaurant The Cellar, led by head chef Billy Boyter since 2014, is up for sale for £500,000. The Anstruther restaurant was taken over by Billy in 2013 after the passing of Peter Jukes. Despite being the head chef at Michelin starred Number One in Edinburgh, Billy saw an opportunity to continue The Cellar’s legacy. The restaurant achieved a Michelin star in 2015 with a menu highlighting seasonal Scottish produce and locally foraged ingredients. Billy expressed pride in what they’ve achieved at The Cellar and decided it was the right time to sell. Shepherd Chartered Surveyors is handling the sale. Partner Jonathan Reid said that Billy returned home to reopen The Cellar with his family and was awarded a Michelin Star in 2015. He also mentioned that the restaurant could comfortably seat over 30 diners and only operated four days a week, leaving potential for increased revenue under new ownership.
